As a Reward Manager the main focus of the role:

This role is reporting to the Director of Reward & Operations, managing a team of Compensation & Benefits specialists. You will be accountable for compensation and benefits in the UK, however the role will have some international exposure through ad hoc cross-border projects and international assignments. As well as designing, implementing and maintaining compensation and benefits programmes, developing policies and managing third party providers, and communicating compensation and benefits structures to stakeholders within the company. Take lead with the global Annual Salary & Bonus review process and manage global mobility delivery.



  • Lead UK salary management at all levels below the Executive team, benchmarking externally and ensuring adherence to reward policy.
  • Advise non-UK businesses where required, and ensure a coherent reward policy is maintained worldwide.
  • Lead the global annual salary and bonus review process, co-ordinating data distribution and salary proposals from all countries; prepare exception reports for Executive Team sign-off; including overall cost summaries and analysis.
  • Co-ordinate the HR teams in compiling templates and letters for all employees.
  • Support the HRIS and Payroll teams with the input of data.
  • Prepare documents in relation to the Executive LTIP.


  • Manage reward policies to ensure cost-effectiveness, compliance and fairness.
  • Ensure the UK benefits programme remains externally competitive.
  • Oversee the management and renewal of UK benefits, with the support of the Benefits broker and providers and the Reward team.  The aim is to control costs despite above-inflation increases from providers.
  • In conjunction with the Fleet Manager, oversee the management of the UK car fleet, implementing a new policy in 2018 aimed to deliver significant cost savings and efficiencies and simplification.
  • Manage governance of the UK pension scheme, replacing the default fund in 2018.

Global Mobility

  • Lead the international assignments programme in line with the Global Mobility policy.
  • Review and republish the Global Mobility policy to ensure past learnings and best practice are incorporated, and the policy is future proofed as far as possible.
  • Co-ordinate the tax return process with the company’s tax advice provider.
  • Liaise with our immigration partner with visa queries and immigration advice.
  • Provide relocation support to the business and partner with our relocation experts as required.
  • Partner effectively with our international colleagues.

Team Management

  • Lead the Reward team –  Reward Partner, Benefits, Fleet - ensuring processes are efficient high data integrity is maintained.
  • Ensure the HR systems are kept up to date and can be used for accurate reporting and monitoring

Key stakeholders


  • Provide timely and good quality reports, proposals and data to the monthly Reward Forum.
  • Point of contact for the pensions and benefits brokers and providers for company related queries. 
  • Maintain strong relationships with our reward suppliers.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with the Payroll team, HR Services team and the wider HR community, including the PCL joint venture company, to ensure a first class service is maintained to our internal customers.

  • Strong experience in reward management 
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent
  • The ability to manage and get the best out of a team
  • Experience of delivering multiple projects against specific timelines
  • The ability to work in a fast paced, ambitious and dynamic environment
  • Proven interpersonal communication and influencing skills
  • Sufficient knowledge of non-UK compensation and benefits programmes to be able to advise colleagues in other businesses on global reward policy and its effective application locally
