Key Purpose of the Job

 

Category buy plans and inventory management. 

To grow sales and profit by ensuring that we have the right stock available at the right time for customers through great vendor relationships and accurate forecasting.

This role manages the supply chain planning and operations function of given categories from concept to launch by supporting the business process, forecasting and vendor management working with internal stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities

  • Vendor capacity management / accuracy.
  • Control inventory targets approved to guarantee the right coverage in order to avoid lost sales or over stock situations.
  • Managing the seasonal forecasting process, working closely with demand planning, markets & Berghaus Asia at each stage gate, using the forecast to assist sourcing & product teams in vendor allocation.
  • Formulating vendor capacity plans from the seasonal forecast & working with Berghaus Asia to ensure plans are in place with vendors. Working directly with non-Asian vendors. Forecasting vendor capacity issues down to style & SCO level.
  • Raw material and fabric management, working alongside Berghaus Asia, fabric mills, materials development and design. Minimising liability through effective forecasting & process.
  • Ensuring the seasonal salesman sample critical path is delivered.
  • Placing the monthly buy in line with the agreed seasonal buying calendar.  Managing the non-buy process, report & communication. Reducing where possible.
  • Work closely with Sales and Customer service to understand the Orderbook status with respect to overdue sales, cancellations, contracts etc identifying potential issues and recommending solutions where possible.
  • Own the airfreight process, ensuring that any airfreight is essential and as such authorized within budget.  Report on monthly basis.
  • Managing & planning transition of products exiting from the range
  • Impact Analysis on orderbook.  Reviewing, actioning and reporting on all instances where the orderbook cannot be fulfilled.
