Key Purpose of Job: 

To support the Brand BDM in developing and executing go to market strategies that deliver the overall brand business plan within the regions/markets. The Business Development Executive will have a strong focus on the brand to which they are aligned but may also be asked to work on other brands. 



  • Manage the sales process from beginning to end through the provision of assets and communication with partners/ customers. This process will include, amongst others: communication of key dates, sharing of catalogues & price lists, cancellations & swaps, etc  
  • Taking sales appointments, presenting the collection to customers with confidence and taking orders 
  • Actively search for new, suitable International retail accounts 
  • Attend European tradeshows 
  • This role has the support of the International Business Development Coordinator for many of the tasks 

Account Management 

  • Working closely with Customer Services rep to ensure world class service to partners/ customers 
  • Work with customer service & supply chain to ensure customer deliveries are closely monitored and information/ updates communicated back to customer 
  • Main point of contact for certain territories and retail customers 

Partner Management 

  • Partner management of distributors, assessing and monitoring distributor performance versus targets and taking action to drive growth 
  • Pro-actively track partner / customer sell through, send out regular free to sell reports to drive in season replenishment/ re-orders 
  • Support with the on boarding of new distributors 
  • Work with partner/customers on seasonal as well as longer term strategy plans  
  • Feed international requirements back into product, marketing and supply chain teams 
  • Assessment of any new markets and develop strategies to expand the brand’s business 


  • Develop a broad based knowledge of all markets within remit ensuring a complete understanding of all local factors and trends that may affect the distribution of product- including market visits 
  • Responsible for the preparation of budgets for key territories 
  • Work closely with marketing team to execute international marketing initiatives directly with retailers or through distributors 


Needs to have 

  • Minimum of a 2:1 University degree or equivalent 
  • Sales experience working with brands 
  • General product knowledge of the category is desirable 
  • Knowledge of economic and social trends in international markets 
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills 
  • Proficiency in PC skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint 
  • Experience working in a corporate environment 
  • Moderate level of financial understanding (margins, discounts, debtor days, royalties) and willingness to learn 
  • Additional language skills would be an advantage
