The legend of a fantastic tennis player, René Lacoste, a member of the famous French "Musketeers" Davis Cup Team and a star of the courts at Wimbledon, Forest Hills and Roland Garros.

 

The true story of "the Crocodile" dates back to 1927. René Lacoste liked to recount how this nickname came about and ultimately became a brand of worldwide renown.

 

“I was nicknamed "the Crocodile" by the American press, after I made a bet with the captain of the French Davis Cup Team. The public must have been fond of this nickname which conveyed the tenacity I displayed on the tennis courts, never letting go of my prey.”

 

In 1933, René Lacoste founded a company to manufacture the perfect tennis shirt. The original “1212” pique polo shirt featured the now legendary embroidered crocodile on the left breast - Lacoste was born and revolutionised sportswear and branding within sport.

Key Purpose of the Role:

 

To co-ordinate & manage the delivery of the global product launch & the creation of footwear specific marketing assets. To work closely with Lacoste Paris to find effective solutions in a timely and accurate manner.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinate & manage all aspects of the seasonal product catalogue to include collating samples, photoshoots, content management across relevant product / design teams, copywriting coordination and print / production of final catalogue.
  • Work with the Lacoste marketing team on the creation & delivery of regional specific collateral for digital, social, retail, and e-commerce.
  • Work with the JV product team & copywriter resource to supply relevant & accurate product related copy to the Lacoste Paris marketing team & global partners.
  • In collaboration with the Lacoste Paris team, develop and maintain the global asset management tool. Upload seasonal campaign images & assets, ensure communications are agreed & released.
  • Facilitate the ordering and delivery of printed assets for global partners to support regional activities & launches.
  • Support the Project Brand Manager & Head of Category Management to plan the bi-annual footwear specific global launches
  • Take ownership for organising and delivering the global launch event, including venue sourcing, production, shipping & event management.
  • Support the Lacoste Marketing team with the ordering & management of all product samples throughout the season implementing effective processes & maintaining clear documentation (to support the creation of global brand assets, footwear specific campaign imagery & PR activity).

 

 

Needs to have

 

  • Similar marketing experience, preferably within Sports / Fashion or a related marketing field.
  • Experience in a brand aligned to the Lacoste Brand.
  • Strong planning, process & admin skills.
  • Proven ability to work within a critical path and meet deadlines, managing time efficiently to achieve completion of a professional standard of work.
  • The ability to work across multiple functions with experience of working in a matrix structure a benefit 
  • A collaborative & approachable style of working to maintain and develop trustful relationships with peers across the business.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office is an advantage
  • The ability to travel and spend time away from home
