The legend of a fantastic tennis player, René Lacoste, a member of the famous French "Musketeers" Davis Cup Team and a star of the courts at Wimbledon, Forest Hills and Roland Garros.

As the Senior Management Accountant, Lacoste Footwear you will:

Report directly into the Financial Controller. Direct Management of the Management accountant, responsible for day to day management and longer term development plan. Considered to be an integral part of the Lacoste Finance team. Be part of the Lacoste and Pentland Finance Community, participating in projects and processes as required.

 

 

Key Purpose of the Role:

 

As a critical member of the Lacoste JV Finance team, you will build your business knowledge and create strong relationships within the global Finance Community. You will have responsibility for pulling together results (and plans) and reporting from the various functions across the brand for a consolidated view of the International business. 

 

You will also have responsibility for the Month End process and management of the total cost base for the Lacoste JV functions.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Commercial Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Financial Controller and the Business Partner, responsible for tracking, measuring and communicating International Gross margin:
  • Providing management with clear, concise and meaningful reporting and analysis; communicate appropriate explanation for exceptions and variances

Finance Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Management Accountant, responsible for the P&L and Balance Sheet of the International business.

Planning

  • Be responsible for consolidating all the Budgets, Forecasts and long term plans from across the business to provide an International view
  • Challenge and analysis of plans, forecasts and targets to ensure a robust approach is taken.
  • Preparation of regular balance sheet and cashflow forecasts

 Working with the Business Partner

  • Share learnings, data, and insights with the Lacoste financial community, ensuring an overall Brand focus
  • Building financial partnerships within a diverse and matrix’d organisation

Month End/ Year end

  • Own the JV Month End process, with direct input from the Business Partner and Management Accountant including preparation of monthly management accounts: P&L, Balance Sheet with preparation of analysis schedules and commentary (including risks and opportunities)
  • Own the monthly Hyperion submission to Lacoste Paris and be the main point of contact for queries
  • Year-end statutory reporting preparation, including audit files and liaison and discussions with auditors .

 Cost Control

  • Manage the total cost base in the JV functions (Exec, HR & Finance) – ensuring budget is attained and where possible cost savings/efficiencies are considered
  • Together with the Management Accountant, responsibility for maintaining the total International People cost tracker
  • Regular cost centre reviews for all JV functions
  • Management of processes such as VAT return and Withholding tax claims

 Overall efficiencies and improvements

  • Review of current systems and controls – taking a fresh perspective to make positive changes for the business
  • Working closely with the Group Finance Services department to ensure payables, receivables and cash is being managed efficiently.
  • SAP continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team

Ad hoc requests driven by the JV Exec, CFO, and Financial Controller.

 

 

What you need to have

  • Newly qualified to – (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA)
  • Solid experience in reporting and forecasting/budgeting
  • Previous experience preparing statutory accounts (FRS102 desirable)
  • SAP experience essential
  • MS Office 365 computer skills to intermediate/advanced level
  • Have a positive confident approach to getting things done within a very demanding environment, able to meet deadlines
  • Ability to see high level view
  • Ability to challenge
  • Ability to work in a multi-functional and multi-cultural business
  • Able to analyse and interpret large amounts of data and crystalize main points in an easy to understand format.
  • Hyperion experience - desirable
