    Key Purpose of Job:


    To lead the development team to ensure on-time development of all products for the specific category using advanced product engineering from concept stage utilising ‘best in class’ product and process knowledge, assuring optimal cost, quality assurance, reliability, regulatory compliance, safety and speed-to-market.



    • Responsibility for all aspects of product manufacture feasibility and overall cost management/validation to margin requirements - support a team culture of rigorous ‘end to end’ effective cost engineering and cost breakdown analysis.
    • Completion and translation of all development documentation ensuring clarity and understanding throughout the supply chain to agreed timescales.
    • Interface with Asia team counterparts to optimise development process and prototype approval, empowering ‘close to source’ responsibilities – driving development ‘Efficiency’ and ‘Effectiveness’.
    • Setting and compliance of Team KPI’s – Creation of product specifications, testing, prototype assessments and sealed samples OTIF achieving key calendar milestones.
    • Proactive in identifying technology gaps and agreeing the most appropriate vendor for all products together with Category Sourcing team/Sourcing strategy
    • Maintain an awareness of specific market intelligence and innovation, optimising advances in new technology and upholding Brand standards
    • Ensure Insight and customer needs are at the center of the development team decision making and Product engineering
    • Provide specific product specialism and promote close interaction with the Innovation team to ensure a smooth and commercial transition of technologies to main range.
    • Integration of Quality and CI feedback loops – Risk assessment to ensure early identification and input on product construction, testing, regulatory and safety compliance, manufacturing capability and efficiencies.
    • Provide technical expertise to development team members. Coaching and support to build product development capability and capacity resource to meet current and future needs of the product category
    • Ensure all Development activity has clear objectives, metrics and deliver strong ROI.

    • Product Development experience within a similar category

    • Ability to self-manage, prioritise work and multi task.
    • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, managing a range of stakeholders
