    Key Purpose of Job:

     

    Working as part of a multi-function, matrix team alongside the divisional  supply chain teams, customer service, demand planning and category sourcing teams to develop the supply chain plans that deliver the needs of the global demand and customer requirements whilst optimising supply chain and inventory costs. The successful candidate will be a key point of contact for Pentland sourcing, responsible for the Buying process and supporting vendors to plan capacity and manage raw materials in accordance with latest demand.

     

    Responsibilities

     

    • Work with divisional supply chain, customer service and demand planning teams to create supply plans for all product ranges. Ensuring vendors and other supply partners are making necessary capacity and raw material bookings to support on time delivery of orders
    • Identify key supply gaps and opportunities and utilise scenario planning to mitigate risks
    • Run monthly buy process against the demand plan to maximise availability and minimise stock risk, deliver against procurement deadlines and hold sign off meetings with Commercial & Category teams
    • Work with finance business partner on the following
    • Financial analysis and sign off of supply and demand plans
    • Financial analysis and sign off of the Buy 
    • Manage risks and opportunities to inventory at a global level
    • Review Core stock levels on a regular basis to ensure appropriate stock availability to meet demand peaks
    • Monitor vendor performance by working with the Pentland sourcing teams to review the status of open orders and developing knowledge of manufacturing issues. Checking that current status is on plan at any time and projections from plans and execution will satisfy customer expectations
    • Develop existing and new supply chain planning processes, plans & reports
    • Run monthly Supply Chain KPIs, provide clear commentary and recommend actions required to attain targets
    • Provide monthly top level summary of vendor status to senior management teams, including actions being taken to resolve issues
    • Provide regular and concise updates on delivery issues to Sales and Customer Service teams
    • ‘Own’ the relationship for directly managed vendors, including regular face-to-face meetings where possible

     

     

     

                             What you need to have

    • Strong attention to detail
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Experience of working with an ERP system for planning and control. Knowledge of SAP is advantageous
    • Proficiency with MS Office, including Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets
    • Knowledge and experience of supply chain planning and management
    • Process improvement and lean thinking skill set desired
    • SAP experience is desirable
    • Advanced Excel skills
    • Excellent written communication skills
